DAY VISITS 2007/08

RENISHAW HALL
Friday September 28th, 2007 (postponed from June due to flooding).
Tutors: Rose and Robin Horspool
Last year we were not able to book to see the interior so this year we have changed the day to be able to have this rare visit to the Sitwell’s country retreat at Renishaw Hall, just outside Rotherham, in a surprisingly rural location; with a magical garden as well, and tour of the garden with knowledgeable head gardener.
There is also a collection of John Piper paintings, prints and drawings and a fascinating museum on the Sitwell family: Sir George, Osbert, Edith, Sacheverel and the present Sir Reresby Sitwell.

York Ring road:8.00am;
Pocklington Bus Station 8.35am;
Driffield (opp. Coach station) 9.00am;
Beverley (Minster, Highgate Porch) 9.15am;
Cottingham (opposite Duke of Cumberland)9.30am
Return:
Cottingham, 6.30pm (approx.)etc.
Cost: £28. Cost includes coach, entrance fee, tuition and coffee on arrival. Lunch not included.
CHRISTMAS AT CASTLE HOWARD:
Tuesday November 27th 2007
Tutors: Rose and Robin Horspool
Visit this magnificent house decorated for Christmas, an unashamed luxury day out with lunch and culture as a bonus. Tour, coffee, biscuits and guide book also included, with entrance fees and coach.
